Mid-evening

Rain floods the streets, suffocating the gutters as the water forces its way into the drains. Not much can be heard over the torrents of rain from the sky, at least not by human ears.
Completely drenched, Khey shivered in the darkness of an alley. Disente wasn't far away, watching the opening to the street. "Hell." he muttered, trying to keep his hair out of his eyes.

Shiva sighs on the other side of town,her white hair plastered to her head."I HATE the rain..."

Dio walked out into the rain from the door. He held out his hand into the rain and watched his hand fill with cold water. The people on the streets huddled together and walked quickly through the hazy mist. Dio shrugged his shoulders and walked down into the street

Shiva sighs again looking around before deciding the follow something.Looking down she picks the first person she sees, who happened to be Khey.

Disente turned slightly, smiling at Khey, only to be met by a cold glare. "Face it." Khey snarled quietly, teeth chattering "There's not going to be anything today. Nothing in your range anyways."
Disente shrugged, not even remotely dismayed.

Dio walked down into the alley where Khey was located. He watched him with interest, yet unsure of his reliablility.

Khey's glare instantly snapped to Dio, while Disente looked at Dio with great interest.


Shiva smiles crouching on the roof of the building watching Disente,Dio,and Khey.

Dio extended his hand to Disente. "I'm Dio." he said casually. "It's nice to meet you, Mr....?"

"Disente." Disente said, shaking the proferred hand while grinning. Khey continued to shiver, though he didn't take his eyes off Dio.

Dio looked back at Khey. "Are you alright? If you need to get warm, I have a house up the street."

Above Shiva, Son-Ryutaro watched with interest. "So, the cat and mouse game is going to get interesting, is it?" he smirked.

"I'm fine." Khey said darkly. "That would be nice." Disente said, smiling. Khey glared daggers at Disente, though couldn't bring himself to protest.

shiva quietly makes her way down to the fire escape low enough she could hear what was going on.

---

Ty puts her ears back, growls lightly and walks to the right into a crumbling building.
"whats wrong?"Gyn asks Ty.

---

Disente smirked, walking over to the very wet Khey and whispering in his ear. Khey's eyes widened.

---

It's raining again.
The rain pattered on the ground, making a soft hush as a Darkened Angel watched it from behind her bedroom window. She was turned around on a loveseat, watching the rain come down in torrents with ever changing eyes. Metal plates silently glided over each other as her tail waved back and forth, as if it were attached to a cat.
It rained last night, too, and the night before. Hell, it'll probably rain tomorrow, too. I wonder if this is good for the city? A smile played on her lips.

Lynette let the rain pour over her as she gazed at the moon rising over the city. She hated it here, it brought back too many memories.
She ran her fingertips over the scar on her shoulder and sighed. It was time. She had a mission to fulfill.
She wandered the backstreets of the city, slowly walking towards the main laboratory. Time to go to work she thought with a small grin

Shiva growled the rain was srewing up her hearing."Damn...I have to get closer to hear...my night just might be interersting yet..."She growls going further down the fire escape.

Boht Khey and Disente looked up at her. Disente grinned, Khey glared.

Shiva smiles jumping down and landing in a crouch before standing up."Hello."

"Hello." Disente said, grinning. Khey glared, "Why were you -" before stopping suddenly, staring intently at the opening to the alley. Disente's grin widened.

Shiva looks confused but looks up to.

Khey shivered. The rain fell. Disente's eyes flashed. A slight mist clouded near the entrance to the alley, fading in the rain before appearing again in another cloud.

Shiva nearly curses outloud she abosolutely hated the rain.Memo: buy a raincoat...or better yet move somewhere it don't rain...

Dio looked up as well. "It won't end...but nothing better will come this day." He held out his hand and felt the water slide from it towards the ground. he watched Shiva, and was aware of another presence there.

Shiva looks at dio feeling his eyes on her."what?"She smiles shaking her wet heair from her face.

"Nothing, just making sure you weren't a threat of any sort." Dio said smiling. "However, the one up there behind you might be...watch your back." he whispered to her. he smiled again and turned his attention to Disente.

Disente put a finger to his lips, not taking his eyes off the entrance.

Shiva grins."ok...can we get outta the rain though?I really don't like it..."

"SHUT UP!!" Khey snarled in a quite loud stage whisper. In the following silence, the tiniest snick could be heard close to the entrance.

Shiva makes a face but doesn't say anything,she really didn't like taking orders from anyone.

Ty sits down out of the rain watching the entrance carefully ears still back but silent now. Gyn knowing Ty also stays silent and completely still.

Above the falling sound of rain, a slight growl could be heard at the entrance. Disente grabbed Khey's arm and they both bolted towards the sound and that entrance. Unearthly screeches erupted from the other end of the alley, accompanied by heavy footsteps splashing through the numerous puddles.

shiva runs after them forcing herself to go faster then she thought she could run.

Dio followed them. He watched the entrance with caution and focused on what the others were watching for.

Ty leans back into the shadows better, Gyn holds his breath.

Disente let go of Khey to draw one of his knives. Khey kept running until they turned the corner and almost crashed headlong into a beast.

Gyn stays silent but could hear it, faintly.

Ty walks forward silently finding a spot in wich she could see.

The beast hissed lowly, approaching them slowly.

Disente grinned, not moving while Khey backed up slightly.

The beast's low hiss rose to a growl as it lashed out widely, its attack arcing from Disente to Ty, to gut them.

Ty jumps out of the way to the other side of teh beast also growling now her claws out.

Disente danced out of the way before darting back in closer, slashing at the beasts neck before running past and out of reach.

The beast pulled back out of instinct, and the blade fell on the side of its neck instead. It snarled and pivoted, pouncing at Disente.

A loud CRACK preceded a small explosion of blood from the side of the beasts neck as the report echoed of the surrounding buildings. Khey glared at the beast, gun aimed at its head.

Ty flicked her tail, ears back still growling nails out, patient watching.

A cry of pain erupted from the beast, falling to its side. A moment passed until it pushed itself sluggishly back to its feet, blood seeping from its mouth, to face Khey, a soft growl humming in its throat.

Ty pounces gripping the beast by its throat with her fangs and scratching at its face with her claws growling.

The beast let out a gurgled yelp, rolled with the force of Ty pouncing it, and clawed at her hide, trying to pry her fangs from its flesh.

Disente watched with a look of extreme amusement. Khey looked extremely sickened, both by his brothers attitude and the thing before him.

Ty clamps harder onto its neck, when Gyn pops out of teh building and shoves his sword through its skull from the top, at the same Time Ty releases her grip not to be stabbed and Gyn grabs his gun shooting the beast in the head twitch in two spots before jumping off.

The beast yelped twice at each gunshot, twitched, and lay still, dead as a doornail, down for the count.

Gyn grabs his blade from it's skull. " Ty?" the cheetah stands and shakes watching the men warily, Gyn takes the hint and does likewise.

Disente grinned. "Nice work, though you could have prolongued it slightly more. Who knows." Khey watched the water run down the gutters with blank eyes as the water flooded red. He shook his head, "We should move. More are coming." He glanced at Disente, who's demeanor hadn't changed and walked back towards the alley, looking at the others. "You should come too."

Ty just walks forward slowly carefully following ears still down, gyn hurry to catch up and takes a piece of clothe wiping Ty's face of blood slightly to show small cuts.

Disente remained next to the beast, watching as the others turned the corner before grinning once more as he licked the blood off the knife.

Khey walked warily back into the alley, gun still in hand.

Ty growls her tail flicking, Gyn as an automatic response tenses and watches warily.

Khey stopped in the middle of the alley, shivering again as the rain continued to fall.

"something is coming..." Gyn says softly gun in hand sword in the other.

Ty looks around warily still growling.

Khey remained immobile. A heavy splash was heard from the direction he was facing. Multiple eyes flashed and blinked.

Ty went silent and still, gyn copied.

Khey shivered violently. He closed his eyes, knuckles white holding the gun.

"relax...stay focused...calm yourself..." gyn, says softly more to himself.



Four wraiths gave bodies to the blinking eyes. The beast in the middle was huge, at least as tall as a house. It seemed to be the alpha of the pack of doglike beasts. It growled softly and most sinisterly, and the others seemed to laugh in anticipation. The smaller ones leapt at them; one at Gyn, one at Khey, and one at Ty. The largest picked out Disente for his prey, almost sauntering to him.

Khey swiftly aimed the gun straight into the open mouth of the beast, and pulled the trigger. It was on the ground before the echoes of the report had died away.

Disente pulled out another knife from his sleeve, grinning as he watched the wraith approach.

The wraith fell on its back, flipped, and bounded at Khey once again.

Ty pounces latching onto the wraith in front of her growling slashing and biting,

Gyn shot hi wraith as well but in the heart cavaty and the forehead.

Khey's eyes widened in surprise, thinking it had been dead. He stumbled backwards, before shooting at its eyes.

The beast recoiled from the hit to its eye, weakened considerably, but continued forward, slashing down Khey's chest.

Gyn's beast flipped with the force of the bullets, landing on its stomach. It lifted itself with much exertion to its feet, but didn't seem to have enough in it for much more as it stumbled forward uncertainly.

The beast tangled with Ty seemed to jump at the idea of beast against beast, and clawed and bit at the cat.

Khey crumbled to his knees, breathing heavily, but still managing to shoot it a few more times to the head. Then the gun clicked emptily, out of bullets. Disente's eyes narrowed as he threw one of the knives at the head of his beast, which sank into the roof of its gaping mouth. Disente ran over to Khey, already drawing another knife to replace the one thrown.

Gyn runs forward towards his and cuts its head of cleanly with his sword.

Ty clamps her teeth into the wraiths neck, very close to the jugular, she was scratching and clawing with both hind and front paws.

Khey's beast was dead before it hit the ground.

The head of Gyn's beast rolled, and its body twitched and crumpled to the ground.

Ty's beast sank its fangs into Ty's shoulder, raking long, harsh cuts into her back.

Disente was met with a blow that knocked him several feet from his companion and into a wall. The alpha snarled and jogged over to where he lay.

Dazed, Disente shook his head, trying to clear the dots out of his vision. He stood shakily, leaning on the wall, holding the blades in a deathgrip.

Gyn shoots the beast With Ty all the way throuh its skull sideways, ty clamped harder findind the jagular and clanking hard cutting it open.

The beast spasmed violently at each wound, then loosened Ty's shoulder muscle from the bone before it was too weak to maintain its hold and slipped off of her, bleeding all over the place.

The alpha snarled and brought a taloned paw violently down towards Disente's shoulders.

Ty jumped back and flicked her tail at the beast.

Gyn runs over and cuts the paw with his sword.

Disente's wings tore through his jacket and his eyes glowed gently as his grin returned. He raked one of the blades across the belly of the beast, before he twisted out of reach.

The alpha's claws dug into the dirt, and it snarled as Disente cut its belly, cutting across the muscle, but not through to its guts. It dragged its claws through the ground to Disente with surprising speed, whacking him violently in the chin. The other paw came down on the other side of him, boxing him in. Its tail lashed back and forth angrily.

Disente was dazed, on the edge of consciousness. The demon didn't care. He waited.

The alpha bared its teeth and lowered its mouth to its paws, pushing Disente into its waiting jaws.

Gyn comes up behind the alpha with Ty, Gyn swings his blade down at the begginging of its tail...the base connecting it to the butt.

Disente's wings spread, the clawed tips slicing across the roof of the alphas mouth as Disente pushed both blades through the roof of the alpha's mouth and connecting with it brain.

The alpha's eyes widened to extents of which there seemed to be no eyelids, and twitched, its body in spasms as it tried to get Disente out of its mouth, tearing at its face.

Disente tumbled out of its mouth, soaked in blood. He began patiently licking it off his hands as he watched the alpha in its death thres.

The alpha spasmed violently, its eyelids seeming to pull away from its eyes, blood pouring from its mouth. Its eyes shakily focused on Disente and it stumbled towards him, as if a marionette, controlled by jerking strings.

Gyn jumps onto its backusing the tail bone and then to its head and shoots it from the top of its head through to the brain. "don't these things ever die..." He asks a rehtorical question.

Disente grinned."With great difficulty." he said between licks.

The alpha crumbled to its knees, but still managed to inch towards Disente, a dying growl/gurgle in its throat.

Gyn shot once more. and Ty alks around near Disente sits and starts to clean herself also
licking.

The alpha dropped exactly like dead weight, whatever life that was left leaving completely.

Gyn gets thrown forward and landed on the ground a few feet from Ty and Disenta. " well that was a fun fight...interesting...but fun." gyn says standing.

Shiva had meanwhile left stealing across the rooftops heading south before stopping at an apartment three floors up.Shivering she looks through the window seeing dry clothes scattered across the floor.

The darkened angel had begun to drift to sleep, lulled by the harsh sound of the rain.

Shiva grins opening the window letting herself in shaking the extra water from her hair.

The angel opened one eye warily, although not changing her position or expression, and let it rest on Shiva. There's someone in my apartment again.

Shiva sighs looking around before stripping and putting on some of the clothes laying around.that feels better...nice and dry..Shiva looks around for some food.

The metal plates of the angel's tail slided against each other once, and that was the only sound that could be heard. In one exceedingly fast moment, the angel had leapt from the loveseat and slammed into Shiva, pinning her against the wall with a wickedly sharpened metallic talon at her throat.
"Explain something for me, please." She tucked her long bangs behind her ears and looked into Shiva's eyes, hers shifting angrily, although the rest of her face was almost bored. "Why do people keep breaking into my apartment instead of working an honest living and getting one for themselves? It's getting...tiresome."

Shiva growls shoving back again alex."Me?I do work except it's wet out and I don't feel like going home,and yours was the first apartment I came to,...so if you don't mind I'll be leaving.."

"No, no.." Alex pressed harder on Shiva's chest. "Now I'm curious. Do you always break into people's apartments when you don't feel like trekking all the way home?"

"no...it's just really wet out so I wanted to get in side fast."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "..And changed into my clothes."

Shiva grins."like I said it's wet out."

"I'll recommend you for your bad taste in fashion," Alex commented, taking her foot off of Shiva's chest. She turned and walked into her kitchen. "There's some towels in the bathroom if you need them."

SDhiva shrugs and walks to the window looking out."nope...see ya around then.."shiva shivers trying to decide if she really wanted to go out.

"Alright, but take an umbrella or something. It's pouring outside." She opened the refrigerator and took out the ingredients for a PBJ sandwich. "And get out of my clothes."

Shiva growls stepping back and stripping putting her own clothes back on.

Alex made herself her sandwich and walked back into the room, munching on her snack. "Well," she said amiably. "You're not a particularly cheerful person, are you?" She threw a raincoat at Shiva.

Shiva catches the coat pulling it on."To much shit goes on in the world to be happy."

"Yeah?" Alex asked, touching her metallic leg with one hand. "I don't think so." She looked out the window. "Phoo. Chilly," she said very quietly. "Anyway, good luck with that. See ya." She raised a hand in farewell, turned, and left the room back to the kitchen.

Shiva pauses for a second before following."Can I get some food?"

Alex looked back at her for a moment. "Yeah, sure." She guestured towards the fridge. "Pick somethin' out. Just avoid the rye bread and the pumpkin pie---last I checked, the rye was producing small civilizations, and the pumpkin pie is for later." She sat on the tall stool that was positioned next to the stove.

Shiva smiles getting some pop and pickles sitting down smiling opening hte jar eating some.

Alex took a bite from her sandwich, swallowed it, and asked, "So what were you doing out this late at night in the pouring rain?"

"Me?I was out before it started and got caught in the middle of it..."

Alex stood for a moment and closed the window, picking up Shiva's wet clothes and throwing them over the heater before saying, "Okay, but what were you doing out in the first place? If you don't mind me asking." She strode back to the kitchen, the gears in her legs quietly swishing. She got back on her stool. "Lotsa crazies out at night; there's been more than normal lately." She grinned jokingly.

shiva smiles."I was looking for a party...but ended up left in the rain."

"Heh. Poetic, almost." Alex grinned and bit into her sandwich again.

Shiva sighs."I was a poet and didn't know it..."

"Because you never got the chance to show it," Alex rhymed.

shiva starts laughing."Um...I cn't think of anything else.."

"That's alright." Alex took another bite of her sandwich thoughtfully. "So, what do you do?"

"Me?nothing really..."shiva sighs.

"No! You can't do this to me!" a fat man shrieked, his lab coat drenched in blood.
The brief arc of light on metal had been almost too swift for the man to follow. Lynette had slashed the corpulent man with something the moment he was within three feet of her. 
Upon inspecting his massive gut, the man found a vicious wound had been scored across his abdomen. Shrieking at first in pain, he became quite hysterical when his entrails began to slide forth from the folds of the wound and into his meaty hands.
“Never did have the common sense to guard that massive gut of yours, did you.”
Lynette watched him stumble backwards, still shrieking at the top of his lungs. He sunk to his knees and fell back, his innards strewn across his girth. After a few wheezing gasps, he was still.
She showed teeth in what might have been a smile. Her eyes had changed slightly, they were no longer the eyes of an ordinary teenage girl. What resided there now was primal and ferocious. Lifeless and devoid of all emotion.
The eyes of a killer.


Alex finished off her sandwich and looked at Shiva for a moment.
"Right," she said finally. "I'm going back to bed." She stood up and walked over to her bedroom. Over her shoulder, she said, "Close the window when you make that sneaky escape of yours, or, like, be sensible and leave through the door. But either way's fine. Just close and lock whichever exit you take. And don't steal anything; I'll find you and ask you politely to give them back. If that doesn't work, I'll ask you impolitely. Although that tends to be a bit more bloody and I don't mind having to do it, I'd rather not." She raised a hand. "G'night."

Shiva smiles."thanks...."she sighs crossing to the door and locking it behind her.

Dio had watched them disappear. He then jumped up onto the roof and stood up. Son-Ryutaro dropped down just feet away behind him. "What do you want?" Dio asked. "I was busy."
"Don't be so smug. You know it's ging to the boiling point. You won't escape."
"I know that..." Dio replied. "But I will need that groups help. We all will..."
"They're out for blood, y'know."
"Yeah. I'm going to go catch up to them. See you later." Dio jumped off the roof and chased after the group. Son-Ryutaro had disappeared.

Disente's eyes returned to normal and his wings once again lay flat against his back. Khey coughed, curled up on the ground and shivering. The water flooded out of the alley, stained red from both human and beast.

And the rain still fell.
